Modern mineral base oils are the result of a long and complex distillation and refining processes. The feedstock used is crude oil. This substance is not of uniform quality but consists of several thousands of hydrocarbon compounds in which the elements carbon and hydrogen are present in all molecules and, in part, are bound to other elements. The hydrocarbons can be divided into three main groups: paraffinic, naphthenic and aromatic. Paraffinic hydrocarbons can be further divided into two subgroups: normal paraffinic and iso- paraffinic. Paraffinic hydrocarbons are the best lubricants. The distillation process in the refinery separates the hydrocarbons contained in the crude into cuts based on the molecule size.

We offer Base Oil. • feedstock is separated into distillates and vacuum gas oils • vacuum gas oil is sent through the hydro-cracker for conversion • to saturate the molecules and remove impurities such as nitrogen, sulfur, oxygen and heavy metals, hydrogen is introduced. • under extreme temperature and pressure in the presence of a catalyst, hydro-cracking converts aromatics molecules into saturated paraffin. • this process yields stock with lighter in color since the absence of contaminants. • long waxy paraffin molecules are restructured into shorter ones, so-paraffin that resist gelling and improve low temperature pump-ability. • hydrogen is introduced again to clean up the remaining and impurities thus enhancing the oxidation and thermal stability of the final product.

Bitumens (liquid Bitumens) are Bitumens that are dissolved in a petroleum solvent (cutter). Typical solvents include naptha (gasoline) and kerosene. The type of solvent controls the curing time of the cutback and thus when it will obtain its ultimate strength. Rapid curing cutbacks use naptha (gasoline) while medium curing cutbacks use kerosene. The amount of cutter affects the viscosity of the cutback Bitumen. The higher the cutter content, the lower the viscosity and the more fluid it will be. The advantage cutbacks have over emulsions is a much higher residual Bitumen percent, typically over 80 percent. This compares with just over 65 percent for Bitumen emulsions. The result is more Bitumen cement left on the roadway after curing, for the same volume of binder applied. Cutback Classification Cutbacks are divided into two classifications, Rapid-Curing (RC) and Medium-Curing (MC) depending on the solvent used. They are further defined by a number which indicates the minimum kinematic viscosity (fluidity) of the cutback. The lower the number, the more fluid the cutback is.

We are offering base oil. introduction to base oil base oil is the name given to lubrication grade oils initially produced from refining crude oil (mineral base oil) or through chemical synthesis (synthetic base oil). Base oil is typically defined as oil with a boiling point range between 550 and 1050 f, consisting of hydrocarbons with 18 to 40 carbon atoms. This oil can be either paraffinic or napthenic in nature depending on the chemical structure of the molecules. base stocks are classified inot various grades including neutral, solvent neutral, bright stocks, the most common names are for group I (sn: solvent neutral), for group ii (n: neutrals) and group iii grade names refer to the viscosity (4cst, 6cst, 8cst …). understanding base oil base oils lubricants have been around since ancient times. The petroleum-based lubricants business started in mid 1800’s. The initial processing was limited to separation by boiling point. most people know the key driver of the production for lubricants are base oils. mineral base oil modern mineral base oils are the result of a long and complex distillation and refining processes. The distillation process in the refinery separates the hydrocarbons contained in the crude into cuts based on the molecule size. furthermore, as many unwanted substances as possible are removed in the process, such as sulphur, aromatic hydrocarbons, paraffin wax, etc. In other words the mineral oil production process is physical cleaning and the end product is so-called paraffinic base oil. most of the hydrocarbons in the base oil are paraffinic, but it also contains naphthenic and aromatic molecules. When the finished lubricant, such as motor oil, is made of these, several additive compounds are used to improve the base oil properties. the final outcome can also be so-called naphthenic base oil, where most of the hydrocarbons are naphthenic. Their cold properties are excellent.

There are five specific categories of base oils. These categories define the type of base stock the oil is formulated from. The categories are as follows. Note that the base oil group category is followed by the manufacturing method (in bold print) and then a description of the oil characteristics for each category. Group I - Solvent Freezing: Group 1 base oils are the least refined of all the groups. They are usually a mix of different hydrocarbon chains with little or no uniformity. While some automotive oils on the market use Group I stocks, they are generally used in less demanding applications (hh). Group II - Hydro processing and Refining: Group II base oils are common in mineral based motor oils currently available on the market. They have fair to good performance in lubricating properties such as volatility, oxidative stability and flashfire points. They have only fair performance in areas such as pour point, cold crank viscosity and extreme pressure wear (hh). Group – III Hydro processing and Refining: Group III base oils are subjected to the highest level of mineral oil refining of the base oil groups. Although they are not chemically engineered, they offer good performance in a wide range of attributes as well as good molecular uniformity and stability. They are commonly mixed with additives and marketed as synthetic or semi-synthetic products. Group III base oils have become more common in America in the last decade (hh).

Palm Oil Facts Palm oil is produced from the fruit of the Oil Palm Elaeis Guinnesis , found in Africa, South East Asia and Latin America. Palm oil is extracted and refined through pressing and crushing and not by the use of chemical solvents. Palm olein is used for frying foodstuff as it is stable in high temperatures. The manufacturing process involves deep-frying followed by rapid cooking and blast freezing. Quick crystallization of the fat used is important and for this reason, a hydrogenated palm oil of melting point 40-42°C. The most important characteristic of a fat used for frying is its ability to withstand the high temperature used, with undue chemical change. Frying usually at about 180°C , at which temperature, the more unsaturated oils tend to oxidize and breakdown or polymerize quite rapidly Palm oil, with its moderate linoelic acid content and high level of Natural Antioxidants, is suitable for direct use in most frying applications, and frying is a major use of palm oil worldwide. Oils containing significant levels of linoelic acid are not recommended for frying, unless they have been hydrogenated to reduce the content of these labile components. Palm oil resists oxidation and rancidity, which means products made using palm oil have extended shelf lives.

Performance Grade (PG) bitumen is bitumen which is graded based on its performance at different temperatures. The LTPP has given certain algorithm to calculate the temperature of the pavement based on the temperature of the air above. From this, the highest and the lowest temperatures of the pavement is calculated and the bitumen that performs well in that temperature range is selected.

Cut Back Bitumen 60/80

  • Min. Order (MOQ) 200 Metric Ton

Cutback Bitumens (liquid Bitumens) are Bitumens that are dissolved in a petroleum solvent (cutter).

Paraffinic hydrocarbons can be further divided into two subgroups: normal paraffinic and iso- paraffinic.

natural bitumen (often called tar sands or oil sands) and heavy oil differ from light oils by their high viscosity (resistance to flow) at reservoir temperatures, high density (low api gravity), and significant contents of nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur compounds and heavy-metal contaminants. they resemble the residuum from the refining of light oil. most heavy oil is found at the margins of geologic basins and is thought to be the residue of formerly light oil that has lost its light-molecular-weight components through degradation by bacteria, water-washing, and evaporation. natural bitumen, also called tar sands or oil sands, shares the attributes of heavy oil but is yet more dense and viscous. natural bitumen is oil having a viscosity greater than 10, 000 cp.

Recycling your used motor oil keeps it out of our rivers, lakes, streams and even the ground water. In many cases, that means keeping it out of our drinking water, off our beaches, and away from wildlife. We all share the responsibility of protecting our environment and keeping our waters safe. Recycling used oil allows us to continue to enjoy what many of us take for granted every day – clean water. There are many practical uses for used motor oil. A primary use is to re-refine it into a base stock for lubricating oil. This process is very similar to the refining of crude oil. The result is that the re-refined oil is of as high a quality as a virgin oil product. A secondary use of the used oil is to burn it for energy. Large industrial boilers can efficiently burn the used oil with minimum pollution. As a result some used oil is sent to power plants or cement kilns to be burned as fuel. On a smaller scale small quantities of used oil are burned in specially designed heaters to provide space heating for small businesses.
