Power Membrane Cleaners

OptiClean™ powder membrane cleaners integrate the most recent biodegradable polyelectrolyte formulations to effectively remove inorganic and organic foulants from today's polyamide thin-film composite and cellulose acetate membranes. Each cleaner mixes quickly and easily into solution to form a liquid mixture that vigorously releases membrane foulants without harming the membrane surface. A regular maintenance schedule including OptiClean™ membrane cleaners ensures optimum system performance. 

We offer two different types of powered cleaners, one of low and high pH each which combines chelants and solubilizing agents designed specifically to remove metal hydroxides, calcium carbonate, and other similar scales.

Liquid Membrane Cleaners

Lavasol™ liquid membrane cleaners effectively remove a wide variety of foulants from polyamide thin-film composite and cellulose acetate membranes. Each cleaner dilutes quickly and easily to form a solution that vigorously removes membrane foulants without harming the membrane surface. A regular maintenance program including Lavasol membrane cleaners ensures optimum system performance and maximum element life. Our Lavasol product line includes five formulations designed to serve varying system needs.

Oil flushing is applied for the prevention of rust before the start of operation and inputs of substances into the pipes, usually after chemical cleaning is done. This prevention extends the durability of the facilities and enhance the efficiency of operation.

Hydro Testing/Pressure Testing - TuffChem has extensive experience in performing pressure testing of process equipment such as boilers, vessels, turrets, pipelines, etc. We do this by hydrotesting but can also use other medium including luboils and helium nitrogen. This service includes a detailed inspection report, satisfying all classification society requirements and meets NORSOK standards and NR-13 standards (Brazilian Labour Ministry).
If required, we will work closely with the client to rectify leakages so that pressure can be static and test can be completed without too much interruption. We have a track record doing this on FPSO pre-commissioning for most major clients.

Biodegradable Descaler is a pure solution of organic salt and an excellent replacement of any cleaning that uses hydrochloric acid. Biodegradable Descaler is readily biodegradable and non-corrosive to skin and mild steel. The Biodegradable Descaler can be used on all metals except aluminum. How does Dry-Ice Blasting works?Dry-ice blasting works by propelling dry-ice pellets at a hyper-velocity towards a relatively warm surface that will trigger high impact collisions which is followed by the immediate sublimation of the cold pellets. The rapid sublimation of the pellets are, in effect, micro-explosions that create shockwaves between the coating and the substrate that will cause contaminants or the fractured coating to be lifted from the substrate.

Advantages of Dry Ice Blasting
The advantages of dry ice blasting over traditional cleaning methods are clear.

• Clean – Dry ice particles vaporize on impact as they lift contaminants from the surface. This creates no secondary waste, dramatically reducing clean-up time. In addition, hazardous waste clean-ups benefit from no additional contaminated material being created in the cleaning process.
• Environmentally Safe – Dry ice is completely environmentally friendly and harmless to employees. Utilizing absolutely no caustic chemicals or solvents, dry ice vaporizes into harmless carbon dioxide on impact.
• Cost-Effective – Dry ice blasting allows you to clean equipment without disassembly, eliminating downtime. It is also faster than traditional cleaning, resulting in lower manpower costs.
• Dry-ice or CO² blasting is a cost-effective cleaning process which is non-abrasive, non-flammable and uses carbon dioxide, which is less hazardous to health and the environment compared to other chemical cleaning agents. It is commonly applied in cleaning turbines, gear boxes, car cylinder valves and furnace tubes.

• Food Manufacturing : Dry ice blasting is an FDA/USDA approved cleaning method. Tuffchem removes failing paint from walls and ceilings. Dry ice blasting removes stubborn or hard to get at deposits from ovens, process equipment, conveyor systems and more.

TuffChem uses state-of-the-art boroscope equipment to inspect process lines internally without extensive dismantling of the system. This service includes a detailed inspection report plus images captured that will allow the customer to:

• Assess the integrity of process lines and insure piping and heat exchangers are free of pitting, rouging, localized corrosion, cracking or scaling
• Search interior piping and vessels for foreign material and contamination sources
• Check that the internal welds conform to respective standards.

The Turbine Cleaner (Turbo-K) is a new breed of "Super Cleaner". Turbine Cleaner is the perfect cleaning or washing solution for industrial gas turbine compressors (online and offline). LAVASOL™ 1

Lavasol™ 1 is a low pH, low foaming liquid formulation that combines chelants and solubilizing agents designed specifically to remove metal hydroxides, calcium carbonate, and other similar scales. Used in a program that includes an alkaline cleaner for organics and particulate removal, this highly efficient product provides excellent foulant removal resulting in longer system run times and increased membrane life expectancy.
