Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, also called sodium pyrophosphate, tetrasodiumphosphate or TSPP, is a colorless transparent crystalline chemical compound with the formula Na4P2O7. It is a salt composed of pyrophosphate and sodium ions. Toxicity is approximately twice that of table salt when ingested orally.
KTPP Potassium Tripolyphosphate (KTPP) is a hygroscopic white material, granular, soluble in water, which gives moderately alkaline solutions. Potassium Tripolyphosphate is sequestering agent (excellent sequestrant of calcium, magnesium and iron in food products). Potassium Tripolyphosphate is highly soluble in aqueous solutions with excellent dispersion properties. Potassium Tripolyphosphate is easy to dissolve in water with solubility of 178g, 194g, and 212g in 100 mL of water at 10°C, 25°C, and 50°C respectively.
Potassium Tripolyphosphate has excellent chelating ability and can form stable chelates with Ca2+ and Mg2+ in hard water so as to soften hard water, increase cleaning ability, and remove dirt. The white precipitate formed from adding 13mL of 1% calcium nitrate solution into 100 mL of 1% potassium pyrophosphate solution can be rapidly chelated to produce a clear solution.
Applications : Potassium Tripolyphosphate can form a protective film on the surface of iron, lead, zine, and other metals so as to prevent surface corroding. P2O74- has a strong dispersion ability to disperse finely distributed solid particles so that these fine and trace materials can mix evenly. Potassium Tripolyphosphate has stable pH buffering ability and keep solution pH value unchanged for a long time. Potassium Tripolyphosphate is used as a builder for soaps, detergents and especially liquid cleaning formulations.
Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate is a synthetic, edible phosphoric salt. It is a white mass or free-flowing powder that is used in self-rising and prepared baked goods to control the pH amounts in food.
Detaills : Sodium acid pyrophosphate finds applications in oil drilling and detergent. It also acts as an excellent chemical stabiliser.
Sodium triphosphate (STP), also sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), or tripolyphosphate (TPP), [1]) is an inorganic compound with formula Na5P3O10. It is the sodium salt of the polyphosphate penta-anion, which is the conjugate base of triphosphoric acid. It is produced on a large scale as a component of many domestic and industrial products, especially detergents. Environmental problems associated with eutrophication are attributed to its widespread use.
sodium hexametaphosphate is used as a sequestrant and has applications within a wide variety of industries, including as a food additive in which it is used under the E number E452i.Sodium carbonate is sometimes added to SHMP to raise the pH to 8.0–8.6, which produces a number of SHMP products used for water softening and detergents.
