Hardfacing Wires CeraMetal manufactures a range of Hardfacing Flux Cored Wires suitable for various applications. These wires are formulated for open arc and submerged welding. Three main categories of wires are produced : Type A - Austenitic These open arc wires are used mainly for build-up and cladding both manganese and carbon steels (not A25). They can all be used for joining manganese steel components whilst grades A10 and A20 can also be used for joining difficult or dissimilar steels. The deposits are tough with excellent impact resistance improving in service due to their capability of work hardening to 40-50 HRC. Applications include crusher jaws and rolls, hammers, rail and tram tracks and fittings, e.t.c. Type F - Ferritic-Martensitic A range of wires for open arc and submerged arc welding of carbon and low alloy steels. Used for both build-up and general hardfacing, they are fairly resistant to abrasion and impact with excellent resistance to metal-to-metal wear. Deposits are machinable and their hardness can be modified by heat treatment where component size and geometry allows. Applications include the rebuilding and cladding of a wide variety of components in the earth moving industry, steel works, power generation and ship repair yards. Type C - Carbides Wires in this category are for open arc welding giving deposits containing hard chrome and complex carbides in tough steel matrix. They offer good to excellent resistance to abrasion and the higher alloyed grades are both rust resistant and can operate at elevated temperatures. Deposits are hard and not ductile thereby exhibiting transverse stress cracks that are helpful in relieving welding stresses. Normally limited to 3 layers, deposits are not machinable. CeraMetal Wear Plate is a bi-metallic plate, consisting of a mild steel base with a highly alloyed wear resistant cladding. It is produced by a customized automatic hardfacing process which results in a harder, tougher and more wear resistant surface than any existing process can achieve, as proven by abrasion tests to ASTM G65 and erosion tests to DIN 50332. (Result available on request) The low carbon steel base plate allows the product to be welded, bolted or studded to existing structures, whilst the surface cladding provides an excellent wear resistance barrier to the most severe conditions and environments. The superiority of CeraMetal Wear Plate is the direct result of strict scientific and metallurgical control of all the production processes involved. The highest available concentration of Chrome Carbides (Cr7C3 - Hardness 1730 VPN) together with the optimum Carbide orientation and the unique alloy additions makes CeraMetal Wear Plate superior to any plates of this kind available in the market.   Advantages Easy fabrication of components e.g. pipes, ducts, transitions e.t.c.
